Job Summary

The Head of Product & Solutions is responsible for the product strategy, execution and ongoing management of MoneyGram’s developing platforms. The incumbent will interact regularly with the MoneyGram management team to ensure effective coordination and execution across the web and mobile delivery channels. The incumbent will also ensure additional and adequate ongoing strategic and tactical focus on the proper execution and development of MoneyGram’s existing and developing platforms. This focus includes consumer experience, contact center support, agent operating environment, operating costs and overall P&L contribution. The Head of Product & Solutions ensures a successful definition of necessary new functionality, and/or enhancements required to maintain and expand our product.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops a wide view of the money transfer industry, consumers and the services MoneyGram offers for the purpose of understanding the ways MoneyGram impacts consumers to leverage to form strategies. These strategies will transition into specific product concepts and enhancements that will deliver product differentiation in the market to help meet the evolving demands of our consumers while ensuring constant improvements in the experience that consumers have with MoneyGram.
  • Owns the Compliance initiatives that impact core consumers, regardless of channel, by partnering with Compliance leaders and the Technology organization to ensure solutions deliver regulatory requirements and provides optimal consumer experience that help to differentiate MGI to our agents, billers and customers.
  • Manages the entire product / delivery platform lifecycle from strategic planning through tactical execution.
  • Acts as the owner of the consumer experience with a goal of transitioning MGI from a transaction centric organization to a consumer centric organization by providing thought and product leadership in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Operations, etc.
  • Defines and measures agent engagement and consumer experience by creating a set of metrics that effectively identify points of opportunity and success between MoneyGram and customers.
  • Measures baseline experience and change over time. Tracks and reports on these metrics.
  • Hires, develops, leads and manages the performance of employees.
  • Develops and manages individual work plans in support of division and company objectives.
  • Defines individual performance objectives and financial goals and install accountability to achieve these results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • MBA an advantage.


  • 10+ years leading project management activities within product management, preferably within a financial services company.
  • Extensive knowledge of the remittance or other related payments businesses.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a similar process/project management role within a project/program management environment.
  • Previous experience within the payment/retail financial services sector would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing and implementing multiple projects and working closely with both internal and external cross functional working groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and document projects and the tenacity to persist in obtaining all required information in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Excellent communicator (i.e. manage stakeholders at all levels verbally and through documentation, (PowerPoint presentation, effective interpersonal and written skills etc.)
  • Attention to detail, focused and solution driven with the willingness and ability to implement innovative ideas and improve working methodologies.
  • Ability to assemble and lead a team of internal product managers, providing leadership and support.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and protection legislation and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, communicate, implement and manage an effective business strategy.
  • Knowledge of quantitative data to be created as well as analyzed.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience of influencing stakeholders at a senior level and effectively manage their expectations.
  • Demonstrated problem solver and ability to think creatively.
  • Highly energetic, self-starter with initiative, drive and tenacity.
  • Excellent command of the English language, articulate and credible, preferred.
  • Able to work in a culturally diverse and changing environment.
