The Exchange Engineer II will be part of the Microsoft Technology Engineering team reporting through the Head of Cloud Engineering. Successful candidate will join a small team responsible for Exchange 2016, Exchange Online in a hybrid Configuration, Office 365, Active Directory, and Windows server environments for a global company. Successful candidate will have an initial focus on our Exchange 2016 to Exchange Online migration with opportunities to expand into other Windows Server, Virtualization, and\or cloud technologies.
Support Exchange on-prem \ EXO environment for ~7,000 mailboxes in a global environment
Play key role in Exchange Online migration from Exchange 2016 to EXO.
Provide direct support to end users ranging from Tier 1 to tier 3 type issues.
End user documentation as needed
Training for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support with the goal of operationalizing or automating repeatable tasks
Other Windows related Engineering activities when required
Work through Change control, and Problem management activities related to Exchange environment as needed
Take part in inTune rollout, and ongoing engineering for mobile device management, and\or mobile application management configuration.
Administer ProofPoint environment on-prem and SaaS.
Any combination of relevant education and experience and/or related professional designations/certifications in this field is highly desirable.
Minimum Required: Bachelors' degree
3-5 years' IT Operations and/or Engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
3-5 years' proven customer service experience, and must communicate clearly, courteously and professionally in person and over the phone.
3 – 5 years’ experience managing Exchange 2010, 2016, Hybrid, and\or Exchange Online
Office 365 experience working within O365 E3, Enterprise Mobility + Security E3.
OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Teams, App Protection Policies experience is a plus
Knowledge of Azure AD Connect, idFix, and related tools \ methodologies.
Experience with, or advanced understanding of Exchange Online migration from on-prem to EXO in a hybrid configuration
Advanced understanding of Retention policies, DLP, and legal hold
Experience with 5,000+ mailbox environment preferred
Knowledge of Azure AD Connect, and idFix tools.
Proficient with PowerShell to automate messaging processes and reporting is a must
Demonstrates strong understanding of Active Directory including Group Policy, Sites and Services topology, and replication.
Experience with or understanding of Network concepts including network load-balancers (F5 preferred)
Demonstrates knowledge, experience and proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10, Server 2012, Server 2016, and Server 2019
Strong understanding of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL
Functional knowledge of Exchange and\or Active Directory Disaster Recovery procedures and best practices.
